Every piece of jewellery from Sunshine Diamonds comes with a valuation certificate at no extra cost. It is our way of making sure your jewellery is properly documented from the day it arrives, so you can insure it with confidence.
What is a valuation certificate?
A valuation certificate is a written document that describes your jewellery and states its value. Insurers use it to set the amount your piece is covered for and to replace it like-for-like if it is ever lost, stolen or damaged.
What it includes
- A description of the piece and its design
- The metal and its purity, for example 18ct white gold or 950 platinum
- Details of the diamonds and gemstones, including shape and carat weight
- Whether the diamonds are natural or lab-grown
- The value of the piece for insurance purposes
Why it matters
Fine jewellery is often among the most valuable things we own, and it is easy to under-insure it. With a valuation certificate you have the details your insurer needs, without having to arrange a separate valuation yourself.
How you receive it
Your valuation certificate is provided with your jewellery. If you have any questions about it, or need a copy for your insurer, please contact our team with your order number and we will be happy to help.
Part of our Hatton Garden promise
Your valuation certificate sits alongside everything else that comes with your jewellery: UK hallmarked precious metals, 60-day free resizing, 30-day returns, free insured UK delivery and our 5-year guarantee.
