Shipping & Delivery Policy

At Sunshine Diamonds every piece is made, checked and dispatched from our Hatton Garden workshop and showroom in London. This policy explains exactly how and when your jewellery will reach you.

Free, fully insured UK delivery

  • Free delivery on every order within the United Kingdom, with no minimum spend.
  • Fully insured for the full value of your order until it is signed for.
  • Tracked from our workshop to your door, with a tracking link emailed to you on dispatch.
  • Signature required on delivery, so your jewellery is only ever handed to an adult at the delivery address.
  • Sent in discreet, unbranded outer packaging for your security.

The estimated delivery date for every item is shown on its product page and in your order confirmation email. Working days are Monday to Friday, excluding UK bank holidays.

Ready to ship: next working day delivery

Pieces marked Ready to ship are already made, hallmarked and quality checked in our Hatton Garden workshop. Order before 1pm UK time, Monday to Friday, and we dispatch the same day for delivery on the next working day. Orders placed after 1pm, at the weekend or on a bank holiday are dispatched on the next working day.

If you ask for a ring to be resized or engraved, the item becomes made to order and the made-to-order timescale applies.

Made to order: what happens in your 12 days

Most of our jewellery is handcrafted for you after you order, so it is made to your chosen metal, diamond and size. Here is what our jewellers do during those 12 working days:

  1. Order confirmation and diamond selection (days 1–2). We confirm your order and specification and select your diamond to the cut, colour, clarity and carat you have chosen. Where your piece includes an independently graded diamond (for example IGI or GIA), we match the stone to its grading report.
  2. Handcrafting (days 2–7). Your piece is cast, assembled and shaped by our jewellers in Hatton Garden, London's historic jewellery quarter.
  3. Diamond setting (days 7–8). Each diamond is set by hand by our setters and checked under magnification.
  4. Hallmarking at the London Assay Office (days 8–10). Precious metal pieces are sent to the London Assay Office at Goldsmiths' Hall, where the metal is independently tested and hallmarked to confirm its purity (for example 9ct or 18ct gold, platinum or sterling silver), as required by the Hallmarking Act 1973. Items below the legal exemption weights do not require a hallmark.
  5. Finishing and quality check (days 10–11). Your piece is polished, cleaned and given a final quality inspection: we check every stone, setting, measurement, finish and the hallmark.
  6. Certificates and packing (day 12). We prepare your diamond certificate or grading report where applicable, your valuation certificate and your paperwork, and pack your jewellery in a Sunshine Diamonds presentation box for insured dispatch.

Your order is then delivered within the following 1 to 3 working days, so most made-to-order pieces arrive within 12 to 15 working days of ordering. If anything could delay your order, for example a particular diamond being unavailable, we will contact you straight away.

What you receive

  • Your jewellery in a Sunshine Diamonds presentation box
  • Your diamond certificate or independent grading report, where applicable
  • A valuation certificate for insurance purposes
  • UK hallmark on precious metal pieces above the legal exemption weights
  • Your 5-year manufacturing warranty

Tracking your order

As soon as your order leaves our workshop we email you a tracking link. You can use it to follow your parcel and, if you will not be at home, to rearrange delivery or collection with the courier.

When your parcel arrives

  • An adult must sign for the parcel. For your protection we cannot authorise it to be left without a signature, with a neighbour or in a safe place.
  • Please check the outer packaging before signing. If it appears damaged or opened, note this with the courier and contact us within 48 hours.
  • If your parcel has not arrived by the expected date, please contact us and we will investigate with the courier. Every parcel is fully insured until it is signed for.

Changing your delivery address

For security, we can only deliver to the address given at checkout. If you need to change it, please contact us as soon as possible and before your order is dispatched. We may ask you to confirm the change in writing.

Collection from our Hatton Garden showroom

You are welcome to collect your order free of charge from our showroom by appointment. We will let you know when your order is ready. Please bring photo ID and your order number. To arrange collection, book an appointment or call us.

Deliveries outside the United Kingdom

We currently deliver within the United Kingdom. For delivery to any other country, please contact us before ordering so we can confirm availability, delivery times and costs. Any import duties, taxes or customs charges are the responsibility of the recipient.

Busy periods and bank holidays

During peak periods such as Black Friday, Christmas and Valentine's Day, and around UK bank holidays, courier networks can be busier than usual. We always aim to meet the dates shown, and we will contact you promptly if a delay is expected.

Returns, resizing and exchanges

Return shipping within the UK is free: we send you a pre-paid, fully insured returns label. Please see our returns & refunds policy for our 30-day money-back guarantee and 60-day free resizing or exchange.
